Reviewing The Chinese J 10 Fleet


     The J 10 is one of the Chinese backbone Fighter jet to perform defensive mission inside Chinese Ai space. The Chinese Air force operates more than 250 J 10 variants which comprises more than twelve squadron of Fighter's with 70% of service availability at any given time. The J 10 is one of the best Chinese designed Fighter jets based on the cancelled Israeli Lavi program. J 10 is a single engine multi role, which can be modified in future with newer Radar and power plants. The J 10 is almost identical to the American F 16, Who is also a light multi role all weather Fighter jets.

     The important feature in the J 10 B is the Divert less supersonic air intake and the larger radome to house bigger AESA or phased array radar. The Aerospace engineers claim the DSI is used to control the fighter jet in Supersonic speed and superior boundary layer air flow. The DSI have one more advantage which is the reduced number of moving parts, who lightens the aircraft's weight. Normal air inlets has many moving parts, however the DSI has very few moving parts.

    DSI also known as for reducing the radar cross section in the air inlets. allows the Radar reflections to be absorbed between the diverter and aircraft body. It's only in the air intake sections of the Fighter jet. A complete stealth aircraft with DSI have almost invisible to Radars. However West, Russia and Americans evaluated the DSI long ago, But never used due to some unknown reasons. Currently the Chinese J 10 and Pakistani JF 17 has DSI air intakes.

     China says the J 10 houses home made multi mode radar, or an pulse Doppler radar. Chinese claimed the Radar can track ten targets at one time and allows simultaneously engage two targets using semi active radar missiles for short range no escape engagements. The Radar also capable of firing four long range active radar missile for long range interception. Mostly the PL 12 is used for long range interception. However no information's available about the Radar's tracking range and detection method.

The Claimed AESA Radar

    China actively working to  produce a electronically scanned array radar. which can be fitted in the J 10 B, However the western analyzers said Chinese may develop a phased array radar rather than the claimed active radars. The Chinese military officials rejected the western claim and said the J 10 B currently retrofitted with AESA Radars. The larger radome cone is a good example to accept their Claim. However The AESA requires huge power to operate this will further reduce the Range of J 10 B.

     Many claims the J 10 B also equipped with  Infrared tracking system same what westerners called as ISRT. Which allows to guide the Infrared guided missiles and laser guided Bombs. However the westerner think it just be a hoax, where China tries to fool the foreigners. The IRST allows the Fighter jets to engage targets with using the Radar for guidance. 

    J 10 B uses the AL 31 F engine. The same what being used in the Russian made Flankers operated by many countries include India. J 10 B uses the single AL 31 F engine with slight modification for better thrust. However the Chinese AL 31 don't have thrust vectoring like Indian and Russian Flankers who have the TVC for better maneuverability in high speeds. The Turbofan engine allows the J 10 B to reach Mach 2 speed in high altitude and supersonic speed in low altitude too. The J 10 B can fly at the height of some 60,000 feet.

    China almost modifying the J 10 B with home made WS 10 engines. which produces 12 tons of thrust. Sources claims China already mass producing the engines. which is slightly reverse engineered from the Russian AL 31 engines. Recently some of the photos emerged in online that J 10 B flying with improved WS 10 A Engines.

    The J 10 B is a good aircraft, However lacks of Combat radius, this can be further enhanced by in flight refueling and by carrying more drop tanks. The Officially claimed combat radius of the J 10 is some 500 kilometers. This makes a clear sight of Chinese Su 33 Flanker clones combat radius operated from Chinese Liaoning Aircraft carrier.

    J 10 B can carry some 7 tons of payload in it's external hard points, Which include missiles Bombs and drop tanks. The J 10 believed to carry YJ 9 Cruise missile for stand off range attack. J 10 B has eleven hard points. armed with short and medium range air to air missiles, which makes the J 10 B is a best combat air patrol and air interceptor same like the F 16.

  The J 10 B is what the IAF will faces in first run, If IAF tries to breach the Chinese air space. China may throw the twin engine long range fighters for offensive missions and uses the single engine high agile light fighter for defensive mission. with Radar superiority IAF MiG 29 or Mirage 2000 can shoot down the J 10 B very easily. However no one can underestimate the Chinese capability.

Top Five Indian Weapons of War China Should Fear




  India and China have been neighbors for thousands of years, and have traditionally enjoyed good relations. Only recently in their mutual history have the two sides come to blows. Despite that long peaceful history, the brief 1962 border war and subsequent disagreements over territory have chilled relations between the two.

   China’s recent push to acquire what it considers historically Chinese territory has not been lost on India, and New Delhi has been stepping up modernization of its armed forces. Fortunately, the terrain on their mutual border makes a land war between the two a difficult—but not impossible—proposition. Although China soundly beat India in the 1962 war, the armies of both sides are now more evenly matched and the result could easily be a stalemate.

   If India and China were to come to blows, the real war would be fought at sea. China imports large amounts of foreign oil, and two thirds of that must pass through the Indian Ocean. India sits astride the sea lanes providing China with energy. In the event of increased tensions the Indian Navy could impose essentially a blockade on China of vital shipping from the Persian Gulf and Africa.

   Such a move could force the People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) to travel thousands of miles around the southern end of Asia, into the Indian Ocean to confront Indian naval forces. The fate of the Chinese economy would be in the balance and could escalate to include many different domains of warfare. With that in mind, here our five weapons of such a potential conflict that China would fear most.

VIkramaditya Aircraft Carrier

   India has operated aircraft carriers for more than fifty years, starting in 1961 with the carrier INS Vikrant. Commissioned in 2013, INS VIkramaditya is the latest and most powerful in a long line of Indian carriers.

   The carrier was originally built for the Soviet Navy as the Baku. The original ship was an anti-submarine warfare carrier with the armament of a cruiser, including two 100mm deck guns, a staggering 192 SA-N-9 surface to air missiles and 12 giant SS-N-12 Sandbox anti-ship missiles.

   Mothballed by the Russian Navy in 1996, Baku was purchased by India in 2004. The updated design deleted all cruiser armament, replacing it with a full-length angled flight deck and a ski jump to assist aircraft takeoffs. Vikramaditya’s air wing is expected to consist of 30 MiG-29K or Tejas fighters and 12 helicopters.

   Vikramaditya’s refurbishment has been beset with problems. The ship was to be completed in 2008, but the shipyard encountered difficulties and delivery was pushed back five years. Vikramaditya currently is without active air defenses, relying on passive defenses such as chaff and flares. The Barak-8 short-range air defense system, a joint program by Israel and India, is behind schedule and the AK-630 close-in weapon systems are scheduled to be installed mid-2015.

    China fears Vikramaditya because the carrier could lead a blockade of Chinese shipping, its aircraft increasing the Indian fleet’s radius of action. Vikramaditya could also contribute offensive air power against any Chinese fleet sortied to break the blockade.

Fifth Generation Fighter Aircraft (FGFA)

    India’s first fifth generation fighter, FGFA is a collaboration between Hindustan Aeronautics Limited and the Russian Sukhoi corporation. A derivative of the Russian PAK-FA fighter program, FGFA will mark a quantum leap in Indian Air Force capabilities and will theoretically give India an aircraft in the same class as the American F-22 and Chinese J-20.

    FGFA is a large multirole aircraft capable of both air to air and air to ground combat. The fighter will have all the features typical of fifth generation fighters, including a high level of maneuverability, stealth, the ability to supercruise above Mach 1, advanced fire control and an active electronically scanned array radar system.

    FGFA will have large internal storage bays capable of carrying guided weapons, including up to six radar-guided missiles. Air to air missile armament will likely be the locally produced Astra, a radar-guided missile under development with a range of up to 100 kilometers. FGFA will also reportedly be capable of carrying the air-launched variant of the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile, which can attack targets on both land and sea.

   India will invest a total of $25 billion dollars in the joint development project, and in return will receive up to 250 fighters. Deliveries are set to begin in 2022.





   All of that having been said, FGFA is reportedly having development issues, with Indian officials complaining that the development aircraft has “shortfalls... in terms of performance and other technical features.” Many of these shortfalls are temporary but others, such as the complaint that the plane’s stealthiness is poorly engineered, could represent real obstacles in achieving all design goals.

     China fears the FGFA because it would directly compete with the Chinese J-20 fighter. Despite the reported problems, the FGFA’s pedigree includes the legendary Sukhoi aircraft design bureau, with more than 70 years experience in fighter design. The J-20, by contrast, is apparently a wholly indigenous design with little or no foreign expertise. If FGFA turns out to be successful, it will allow India to match advances in Chinese airpower for the foreseeable future.

BrahMos Anti-Ship Missile

   A joint Indian-Russian project, BrahMos is a short-range supersonic cruise missile capable of being launched from land, air, and both surface and subsurface ships. Brahmos is one of the most advanced missiles in the world, capable of hitting targets on land and at sea with precision.

    BrahMos was developed jointly by India’s Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and Russia’s NPO Mashinostroyeniya. The name itself is a mashup of two Indian and Russian rivers, the Brahmaputra and the Moskva. First flight was in 2001, and three versions—ship, submarine and land—are now operational. The air version, reengineered to be carried by aircraft, is expected to be tested by the end of 2014.

    Brahmos is a two stage missile, the first being a booster rocket and the second a ramjet that propels Brahmos to speeds of up to Mach 3. In anti-ship mode the missile homes in just 3-4 meters above the wavetops, giving defenders minimal reaction time. The missile packs a 440 to 660 pound penetrating high explosive warhead. Depending on the variant, the missile has a range of 186 to 310 miles.

    The multiplicity of launch platforms means that the Brahmos threat could come from any direction and must be countered with multiple defenses: for example, in order to counter sub-launched Brahmos an enemy would have to invest in both anti-submarine warfare and defense against high-speed missiles. Factor in delivery systems such as the FGFA fighter in the air, ships at sea and trucks on land and Brahmos could come from anywhere.

     Brahmos represents a substantial missile threat to the People’s Liberation Army and People’s Liberation Army Navy. The missile’s high speed means that China’s unproven air defenses—both on the ground and at sea—will have mere seconds to respond to a Brahmos attack.

Kolkata-Class Destroyer


   The Kolkata class is India’s latest guided missile destroyer design. Fast and stealthy, with an advanced sensor suite and an array of potent air, land and sea weapons, the Kolkata class would be a formidable ship in any navy.

   The Kolkata class destroyers are true multipurpose destroyers, capable of providing protection to India’s aircraft carriers or operating independently. The primary radar system, an actively scanned array radar provided by Israeli Aircraft Industries, is reportedly comparable to the American Aegis radar system. The radar is capable of detecting contacts in the air and at sea and provides guidance to radar-guided missiles. The Kolkatas will also feature a bow mounted and towed sonar arrays for detecting submarines.

    Armament will be considerable, with vertical launch cells for up to 32 air defense missiles. The missiles will be medium range Barak 8 radar-guided surface to air missiles, capable of point and area defense, respectively. Such defensive missile armament will allow it to provide air defense for carrier battle groups, surface action groups, amphibious groups and shipping convoys.

   The Kolkatas will pack the heaviest surface-to-surface firepower of any destroyer in any navy, with each ship carrying 16 BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles. Rounding out the ship’s armament is a 76mm gun, four AK-630 close-in weapons systems, anti-submarine rockets and torpedoes, and two embarked helicopters with a hangar.

   Three Kolkata destroyers are to be built, with the first two commissioned and last of the of class expected to be commissioned this year. A follow-on class of four destroyers with improved stealth characteristics is already being planned under INS Vishakapatinam .

   China would fear the Kolkata class because it would provide air defense for ships such as the Vikramaditya. Armed with 16 BrahMos missiles, the Kolkatas could also operate independently as commerce raiders, threatening Chinese shipping.

Arihant-Class Ballistic-Missile Submarine

   Although India has maintained a nuclear arsenal for decades, it has lacked a credible second-strike counter value capability. The ability to threaten enemy strategic assets and even cities, an insurance policy against surprise nuclear attack, has eluded India. INS Arihant (“Destroyer of Enemies”) is the first real step toward fixing that problem. India is only the sixth country in the world to develop an undersea nuclear deterrent.

   INS Arihant is India’s first ballistic missile submarine, specifically designed to launch nuclear missiles. Arihant will carry twelve K-15 short-range nuclear missiles or four K-4 intermediate range nuclear missiles. K-15 missiles, with their 700-kilometer range, are incapable of reaching China from the Indian Ocean. K-4 missiles, with their 3,500-kilometer range can reach as far as Beijing. As far as India is concerned, that is probably far enough.

    Arihant incorporates aspects of Russian submarine design. It is both India’s first indigenously built ballistic-missile submarine and first indigenously built nuclear submarine. In another first, the 83MW reactor powering the ship is India’s first shipboard nuclear reactor. Russian shipbuilders lent extensive assistance to Indian shipbuilders, and Russian experts assisted the Bhabha Atomic Research Center in design of the reactor.

   China should not fear the Arihant per se—India has a “no first use” nuclear policy, meaning it would not be the first to launch nuclear missiles. Even if that policy were to change, a successful Arihant class would only mean about twelve nuclear missiles at sea. Still, those twelve missiles represent the capability to do the unthinkable, and despite stated policy that such a potential threat be taken lightly.





Arihant is nearing sea trials. Three submarines are reportedly planned.

       Reports revealed that Sri Lankan Air force buys a squadron of Block 2 version of China Pakistani Developed JF 17 Multi role fighter, in Sri Lanka a Squadron consists of 18 to 24 fighter jets, number include Trainer, Reserve and Active combat group. during the Paris air show this year, Pakistani officials announced that JF 17 gets the first export order and signs the agreement with a South Asian country to supply the JF 17 Fighters, without revealing the Name of the Customer.

       Two days after the announcement made in Paris air show, a Pakistani TV news Channel quoted the South Asian customer is the Sri Lankan Air force, earlier this month Pakistani Army Staff General Raheel Sharif meets with several Sri Lankan Officials and the Sri Lankan Air force Chief, also during the meet photo's emerged that a JF 17 Scale model along with Sri Lankan Air force emblem, reveals the Sri Lankan plans of Buying the Chinese Pakistani made JF 17 fighter jets.

      
   It's also reported that The Sri Lankan air force gets the upgraded Block 2 version of the JF 17 which having air to air Refueling, improved Avionics, more combat load, and advanced electronic warfare capabilities. each fighter costs some $30-53 millions, makes the fighter as very cheap in price, also the Company plans to deliver the JF 17 to Sri Lanka before 2017. looks as they already signed the Agreements.

       It seems there is no problem in the Contract, since Sri Lanka has a good relationship with both Chinese and Pakistan, they have good relations since decades. Sri Lanka operates many Chinese developed combat and Cargo planes which include the Chengdu F 7 Fighter jet, MA 60 and Y 12 Transporters. also the JF 17 don't have modern western equipments since it makes numerous other problems because of Technology stealing.





         Earlier the Pakistanis approached the French for improved Engine the Snecma M 53 Engines, more powerful RDY multi mode Radars along with MICA advanced air to Air missiles, also seeks the support of data link to connect the aircraft with many other Flying platform like AEWCS and ground stations. the deal valued some $1.6 billions, But France refused to supply those cutting edge state of Art technologies to the Pakistani's and the Chinese due to the concern of Leaking French advanced technologies to other Countries especially China, also Indian lobby is prevented the French to deliver those technologies to  China and Pakistan,

      Where India operates Mirage 2000 fighters which were recently modernized with more advanced Technologies listed above, 

      So it's forces the JF 17 to use the outdated Russian engines and Chinese Missiles, even they approached the South African Darter A and European IRST advanced dog fighting missiles to fit in the JF 17, that contract status is also unknown, since most countries knows about China, that they were reverse engineer everything they buy, 

        Also the JF 17 comes with Chinese made KLJ 7 radar, where it's also developed by the Chinese, since it's believed that even Russia too refused to sell the Radar systems to the JF 17 otherwise those Russian Radars significantly large in size which it can't fit inside the Radome of the JF 17. The JF 17 uses the Russian Klimov RD 93 engines, the same Mig 29 uses twin RD 93 Engines.

       The JF 17 comes with array of Chinese made Missiles, Bombs where they lack of proven modern Air to Air and Air to Ground missiles, since it's radar can't integrate it. the Primary long range BVR missile is the Chinese made PL 12 missile having range upto 60 to 100 kilometers. and uses the PL 9 and PL 5 heat seeking missile for Dogfighting. 

   
   But the JF 17 has some good numbers of Air to ground missiles, like Precision and Laser Guided Bombs. stand off Cruise Missile like Ra'ad, But it's not confirmed that weaponry includes the Pakistani Ra'ad available for Export to the Sri Lankan Air force. But they too can supply it to show Sri Lnakan Air force also a Threat to Indian Air force and Strategic locations in Southern corner of India. also it's planed more variety of Air to ground missiles like Anti radiation, unguided bombs and more.

     Even Sri Lanka gets the Chinese Pakistani made JF 17 it won't change anything in the Souther part of India.

      It's been confirmed that Russia deliver first batch of S 400 Advanced Air Defense systems to China, the First batch comes with a Single Battalion, while China ordered Eight battalions to protect it's Territory from any Airborne Targets, A single battalion of S 400 comes with  set of 8 Missile  lunchers, a command and control post, Resupply vehicle, and a Powerful Radar and Fire control System. 

   Unlike other modern Missile systems like American PAC 3 and Indo Israeli Barak NG, the S 400 remains most powerful long range Air defense missile, it's hard to penetrate through any kind of modern anti radiation missile system, while China plans to field it's first  S 400 Battalions near Taiwan makes entire Taiwan comes under Chinese S 400 umbrella.

         The Powerful S 400 bird acquisition Radar named 92N6 can capable of detecting any flying objects at the radius of some 400 kilometers, which cover almost entire Taiwanese Air space, from Chinese mainland. it's believed that the new Radar can capable to withstand powerful jamming too, also one can't jam the Radar from Standoff distance, the source of the jammer should be near to the Radar to make the Jamming makes problems in the Radar.

      The Israeli's the only one who flown successfully above the S 300 system and it's Bird acquisition radar, even from their experience it's bit difficult to manage jamming the S 300 Radar, but the new Radar comes with S 400 even more powerful than the older system, So there is no option to defeat the Chinese Air defense umbrella , it's the Threat to Taiwan now, but sure the threat expanded to New Delhi in coming years,  means China eventually field more systems, the Eight Battalions of S 400 gives good coverage from their Enemy's air asserts.

      The Deployment planned as each for, Taiwan, Senaku Diayou, Sparatly Parcel, South China sea, Tibetan AR, another for Protect their mainland.

        The Taiwan Already stocking bunch of Anti Radiation missiles, but they need to approach the S 400 systems. also it's hard to find the Radar posts in the Battalion, like some eight launchers positioned some 10 mile Radius and Radar and command post inside the heart of the circle, so first It's hard to find the Radar.

     Second, Even if you managed to fly very low without detected, The S 400 contingent comes with three different  missile sets, first one Specially for ABM, it can't engage other air borne targets mainly one of two launchers comes with Such missiles, another set comes with Long Range interception, can intercept any kind of flying object within 200km Range, that means which can kill even smaller Loitering UAV's to Heavy Stealth Bombers, since that uses semi active radar Homing. it can kill almost all flying wings, one should remember China has good numbers of land based CIWS. to protect high value threats from enemy attacks.

       Interestingly, the S 400 systems Radar can track the Stealth Objects such as American high end B 2 Bomber and F 22 Fighter, once the missile gets command and inputs from radar, missile itself goes and kill the Target, also known as fire and forget mode, but its hard to the missile can find the Stealth targets such as F 22 and B 2, meaning  the same semi active radar guided missile easily jammable by most American systems, like E 2 D and other AEWCS planes, even the F 18 G growler can jam the missile, with the stealth and high ECM Characteristics it's difficult to get target lock because those missile uses Radar homing for Target lock.





      Without proper AEWCS support, the Chinese can't achieve the Kill, so the system is same like the other , another set in the battalion comes with even smaller  range missile variant, which also perform same characteristics but even more powerful for engage low flying objects, this missile uses Active Radar Homing, which can be counter-able.

       So the Chinese S 400 good for ABM only, but only good Pilots with supported Fighters and Planes can defeat such high end Radar system, like only Americans have such good systems to defeat the Chinese S 400.

        If the same battalion fielded into Tibet or near to Indian borders, It's clear we don't have the option to kill the S 400, we don't have enough number of dedicated Jamming Fighters, No Stealth Fighters, no good ARM missiles, so India need a Decade to makes it's muscle stronger to defeat the S 400. while China gets all it's S 400 before 2018.

Su 35 The Super Flanker

  Su 35 also known as the ‘Super Flankers’ currently the most advanced fighter serving the Russian Air Force built by (KnAAPO) these fighters perform an array of operation under the Air force. SU 35 is a single-seat, engine, super multirole fighter. The maiden flight of the SU-35 happened on 19th February 2007. 

   The Su-35 had a promising future in the International market, the very first customer to arrive up to a deal with the Sukhoi was the Chinese which was in talks to procure these advanced aircrafts for their Air force. 

    Talks between the Russian and Chinese officials for procuring Su 35 Fighters started way back in 1990 and in 1995 Sukhoi publicly announced its consent to co-produce this aircraft with the Chinese. But due to the troubled of Su 27 in which the Chinese had built a Chinese version of the Su 27 flankers in a reverse engineer program had violated the clauses set by the Russians. The Russians soon blacklisted sales of any advanced weaponry to the Chinese in which the proposed plans to supply Su 35 and Tu 22M maritime bombers were levelled.

   The deal was in dead waters for nearly a decade and later after renewed efforts in 2006, the talks for the purchase of the modernized SU 35 started in the Diplomatic channels. By 2010 Russia restarted talks with China under the Rosoboron export program. 

    In 2011 China publicly announced its willingness to procure these state of the art aircrafts. No announcements have been made in this regard but the negotiations have reached a advance stage and pilots of the Chinese Air Force have been reportedly practicing in Russia which means a deal is imminent.  China needs the most advanced Russian engines specially the 117S which powers the SU35 to develop its own home grown fighter programs.  

   Various reports have emerged that a deal for 24 SU 35 has been finalized but China and Russia have played down these reports stating that a deal is yet to be struck and several technical glitches in the aircraft has so far made the deal lay in stagnant waters.   
 
    With the Su 35’s inducted what would be the scenario when a all out war takes place between India and China? What repercussions will the deal have over the Indian Territory? Well let’s look on flocks!!!!

     Once a war is declared the first wave of aircrafts dispatched by the Chinese Air Force would be the Flankers with their AEWCS which will be battling for air superiority in the Arunachal Region which is the highway to Chinese territory. The Chinese enjoy a upper hand in this region with a well organized supply chain and logistics support which will serve as the backbone to run their forward bases along the Arunachal border. They also enjoy an upper hand in regard to the geographical position of their forward bases.

      India will first face a barrage of Chinese Flankers the Su 27, 30 and 35’s and their clones which will be escorting their AWECS fleet and can operation 24x7 with the help of their FoB. 

  India would first have to set its sight at destroying these FoB’s which only will act as a force multiplier. With the Chinese Flankers and AWECS flocking the air for eager for a kill, deploying a squadron our fighters would not be a wise choice. Rather India will contemplate using the world’s fastest cruise missile, the most dreaded BrahMos to deal with the FOB. 

   With India launching a barge of these missiles will prompt China to launch its own precision missiles against Indian targets. But India will soon opt to firing these advanced weapons in salvo mode and when fired in salvo mode the BrahMos is simply cannot be intercepted. 

   The Anti missile systems deployed by the Indian forces like the SpyDer systems shall take care of the missiles launched by the Chinese at the same time these missiles will pose a serious threat to the Chinese Flankers. Installed deep inside Indian Territory these missile systems cannot be destroyed by the Chinese since they lag any deep strike fighter jets.

      IAF won't risk their pilots to do a SEAD, their main objective would be cutting the supply chain to the Chinese FoB’s and the missiles will take care of them. The BrahMos will be designated to fly in a lo-lo mode this will surely reduce the operational range of the system but will add a pinch of stealth to the missiles. 

   The Chinese will be able to identify the missiles only when the system closes its target and will counter them with land based CIWS systems. Fired in salvo mode the missile is sure to strike considerable damage to the Chinese FOB.which allows the Chinese Fighters forced to withdraw from Indian Air Space.

   With the FoB’s neutralized IAF will then deploy its fleet of MiG 29 and Mirages along with Israeli Phalcon AEWCS. These systems will be engaging aerial threats, with highly maneuverable platforms and the air superiority Su 30’s flying CAP mission across the Indian Borders, Guardians of the Indian skies will enjoy an upper hand. 





   Su 30 armed with lethal Air to Air missiles, will fly in a four to eight delta formation which ensures IAF of complete Air dominance over Indian Territory near possible Chinese infiltration sectors . 

  China will soon dispatch its state-of-art Su 35, to counter the Su30.  The Su 35 is enabled with a rear facing radar which won't provide any assistance during Interception mission but will work well under close combat situations. On the other hand With the AEWCS flotilla being closely guarded by the Mirages, Chinese will try by passing the Indian Flankers with their Super Flankers.  

   With sheer air dominance being enjoyed by IAF the Chinese will have to deploy high number of their Flanker squadrons to sneak through the CAP run by Su 30MKI . With the Flankers in air, IAF aircraft will have to perform lo and hi missions. IAF's Rafale equipped with Spectra and AESA suite provide an upper edge to IAF pilots to engage thus also do a fantastic lo flying missions. Rafale with 360 degree view and bigger combat radius will be the force multiplier of IAF. 

With the Indian Combination of Hi and Lo mission Flights using Su 30 MKI and Rafales IAF will enjoy an upper edge and with the Chinese losing aircrafts, the Chinese will lose their morale in an escalating air battle. The Rafale with their EW spectra suits allows feeding false data into enemy radars and will conceal their positions. 

The J 20 is still in testing and evaluation phase and will be combat ready only by 2022.same for Indian FGFA Program  too.

Trying to gather Air superiority in Indian Territory with its Flankers, will be a mistake on part of the PLAAF and may inflict heavy loses to the PLAAF.  PLAAF till date hasn’t penetrated the Indian airspace till date even though the PLA has time and again violated Indian borders. 

Till date only one incident of India-China scrambling their jets for interception has been reported, in 2012 two Indian Su 30 aircraft made a close pass along the LAC but well within Indian Territory.

The Chinese soon identified the aircrafts and scrambled two of their Flankers, which flew very close to International borders but never engaged the targets.

China has resorted to repeated scrambles across the South China Sea, where it has been intercepting either American or Japanese fighters on an ever heightened scale.  America and Japan have reported that the joint Pacific fleet has intercepted alarming numbers of Chinese Fighters and Recon fighters which fly over the troubled territory often putting International treaties at stakes. No incidents of heightened aggression have been reported from the South China Sea but with China repeatedly violating the airspace of other countries an international incident is imminent. It is important that the Chinese aggression is checked across the table before the situation spins out of hands.
