US Think Tank, US must Arm Indian Navy

     Ashley J Tellis Released a research paper saying the US must Arm the Indian Navy to defeat the Chinese Navy in each and Every aspects, Since it's a Threat to Indian Ocean region both Indian and American interests, Tellis was worked as a US state Advisor, member of Indian Civil Nuclear Disunion bench, senior adviser to US Ambassador to India.

    It's been a discussion between Indian and US government that supplying US's most advanced EMAL aircraft launching system to Indian Navy, since discussion going through Navy freeze the designing works of Indian Nuke powered Carrier IAC 2.

      Ashley addressed many times to the US congress about the Chinese advancement in Indian Ocean, which will be controlled only by arming the Indians without any delays,

      He also urged the US government that they should speed up the negotiations to supply the EMAL systems to the Indian Navy, not only but US should support the Indian Naval shipbuilders to design the IAC 2, he also says that US should not hesitate to supply the modern carrier borne AEW system the E2 D Hawk, and the Fifth Gen CATOBAR capable F 35 C. which allows the Indian Navy to secure and get upper edge to rival's air wing.

      He also pressed the US congress to assign a partnership between Indian and American SEA commands to work jointly for securing the Indian Ocean and controlling the Chinese deterrence  patrol in IOR, also urged to help Indian navy to design the Nuclear reactor which is going to be placed in the carrier. and US industry should assist Indian Ship builders to construct Bigger ships in Indian docks.

         The US assistance to the Indian Navy should send a strong Signal to the PLAN and Chinese Government. he also urged US congress to step in Indian defense sector how Israel and Russia acting Indian interests.

           The same above was reflected to US Senator John McCain briefed by the carniage in sep last year, reflects the Obama's trip to India this year and both agreed to jointly work on the aircraft Carrier Technology Sharing and Design. The New government in India understand the importance of the Indian Ocean and arising threats of Chinese activities around IOR. that's the move was pulled by the New Modi government by Visiting and Hosting the US.

         Indian Navy operating Carrier for more than half a century and used in almost all war battled by India. but never engaged in a bigger Naval battle, thus Pakistani Navy is too small and Indians CG alone take care of them, The Indian Navy building it's fleet to Fight against the Chinese Naval fleet, as Americans Helps the Japanese and South Korean Navy's to Compete against the Chinese Navy, It's time to Build the Indian Navy fully optimized to Fight against entire Chinese Navy.

       Tellis also mentioned the Modi's initiative plans of setting up coastal reconnaissance Radars across IOR and also refurbish Ancient Indian Relationship with Countries like Mauritius and Seychelles. there is no doubt that irked the Chinese so much.    

         The Submarines operated by the Chinese Navy is also worse the Indian Navy's operational capabilities, many times Indians managed to identify the Chinese vessels closely patrolling near to Indian waters. but if they comes with Aircraft carriers the vision is totally different. which is a model of gun boat diplomacy,

         But India's favorable land based Air strips in Andaman gives upper edge to the Indian Navy also, a quick target for Chinese too. since it can't be mobilized.

         The Indian Navy Plans to Acclerate the INS vishaal Project which shelved and not being briefed several decades, The CCS approves the plan of Navy's 65,000 Ton aircraft carrier, with CATOBAR system running with Nuclear propulsion, when the BARC (Bhabha Atomic Research Center ) Successfully installed the small nuclear reactor onboard INS Arihant which is working impressive, the Plan of Navy's surface warships with nuclear power is also raised. while CCS have already given the green Signal, Navy suddenly launch the design phase of the Aircraft carrier,

         The Aircraft Carrier is in the final stage of design Phase, which can be unveiled upcoming days about the Actual Length and Tonnage, while CCS ( Cabinet Committee on Security ) didn't reveal the size of the Aircraft carrier, but some outside sources said the ship can be 65,000 tonnage and some 300 meters of Length, but these are just an assumption, the length may be increase or decrease and the size too, as of now the Indian Navy asked the American to supply the EMALS system to the Aircraft carrier which is slight improved from the Catapult launch, the pentagon too discussing supplying the EMALS ( Electromagnetic Assisted Aircraft launch System ) under the recently signed DTTI ( Defence Technology and Trade Initiative ). 

            As of now the Details are emerged  and confirmed is the Flat top carrier only, whether the CATOBAR otherwise the EMALS if US agrees to supply. none of others have been declared until now, but assumptions are high starting from E 2 D analog to Indian next generation unmanned Combat vehicle AURA too, with the concern from China they building the second  Aircraft carrier also third in Pipeline, India is also boosting it to met the Operational capability of 3 operational carriers, again problems in India we don't have a good Shipyard to handle such a big carrier for that we need to modernize one our Naval shipyard can able to build such huge carriers, the CSL built INS Vikranth is Just a 40,000 ton while the IAC 2 twice as the size of IAC 1. 

      The Armaments also in bigger questions, It's sure the Ship should employ some PMDS such as Barak 8 and ASW suite the RBU 6000, but still some doubts whether they carry some 8 or 16 LACM or Anti Shipping Missiles, The air Arm is also a Bigger doubts but can be predictable, no one can operate a Heli borne  AEW platfrom when you have capable to launch Big AEWCS plane like E 2, so it's sure IAC 2 should have the American E 2 D, not only but more heavy Aircraft's should be on-board, in a recent expo in Russia reveals the Russian plan of Building Naval Variant of PAK FA. in case we too buy some PAK FA for the Navy such a wonderful news to hear operating such heavy 5th gen Fighter from the Aircraft, Questions raised when the carrier is an Ski Jump model, that's too hard to launch such a Heavy fighter, Russians have no plans to build such Flat top carriers, they are nowhere to see the CATOBAR operations, so it's be a wet dream. But intrstingly the Rafale M. Those Rafale M is the CATOBAR capable carrier based MRCA plane no modifications needed to be operate in EMALS systems. so we might be end with Rafale B, The Airforce Goes for Rafale F 3 I and Navy goes for Rafale M. if the deal was collapsed the final option is the Legendary F 18 tough the FMS (Forign Military Sale )  deal 

     And the Good news is The govt may start fund the Carrier project by Next Year and Before 2020 we can see a Heavy long foot Carrier in our waters.

         The Indian Navy Fully Satisfied the Naval Tejas which would be Operated from Both of their Future Carriers and Shore based Facilities. While Air force still insisting about Tejas It having problem unlike Naval Version it's same but some Minor Modifications which suits Better for Naval Operation while Mig 29K is the Superior Platform having 7 Points where Naval Operated F 18 is the Top of the List .Meanwhile Air Force Variant The F 22 alone Deserves Ten Points while Air Force Variant of Tejas gets only 2 or 3 Points. Other case in the Naval Category Tejas Gets some 5 Points while adding some Anti Shipping Profiles which Leads or share the same as MiG 29K.

          The Birth of the First Naval Prototype is the Two Seat Trainer Version later they Build the Clear Naval Tejas who shows It's real Performance in Shore Based Testing Facility. Recently ADA Tested it with Zero Payload and It's clearly Stating they slowly stepping into the Progress and Expected the Tejas will operated from the IAC 1 Vikranth Aircraft Carrier which is currently in Construction at Cochin Shipyard expected to be Operationally Deployed by 2017 or Before. The Tejas having some Impressive Defensive Suites which can easily out perform Mig 29 and the Chinese Su 33 Clone I sure. the Su 33 can't even Try to meet the LCA Navy in future Warfare. 

              Lets Have to see How other Countries Operating with their Aircraft Carriers .The US alone have the Mulitiple Operating Capablities from Carrier Based CAP , Anti Shipping and even CAS for Ground Troops.Thanks to it's dedicated AAW (Anti- Air Warfare)  Destroyers. the same goes for all others. A single US Navy's Carrier Battle/Strike Group is enough to face any other Countries Whole Navy. Lest the same If we consider Our Coast Guard is Bigger the Entire Bakistani Navy. Also all of the or Most of the Time the US Navy always assembled their Carriers with Strike Groups even for their Marine Corps they Use SAN Antonio Class LHD's which have equal Displacement to our Aircraft Carier Vikramaditya R 33 tonnage about 45 000.

                By Coming Russia Their Options are different They gone for Defensive means they use their Carrier Battle Group for Defending their Fleet from  US Navy Flights. They always use their naval Bombers to Support their Fleet to Protect from Enemy Fighters and Ships .Which Means a pair of Tu 22 M can fire some eight Low Flying Anti Shipping cruise Missiles launching at safe distance of some 1000 Kilometers away from the Target which is safer to Operate and defend their Interests . In all such game the Fighters would not expose the Aircraft Carriers Exact Location . For Both CAP and Bombing

         For United Kingdom, they and we share same interest by using the Carrier Battle Group for Both CAP and SEAD/DEAD Mission, Limited CAS to the Troops in Shores and Decent AShM Capability

The Role Here it's performed by the Indian Carrier 

For CAP ( Combat Air Patrol )

            The LCA can house two  pair of Israeli made Python Heat Seeking and Derby WVR  Missiles. or some Four Long Range Astra BVR having some 80 Kilometers Range along with decent Jamming and Defensive Suites the Tejas can Perform decent CAP over the Carrier battle Group for Some 400 Kilometer Circle and Flying over 2 hours Continuously along with the Support of one or Two Ka 27 Early warning Helicopters. Only It's need a Buddy Refuel from an MiG 29 K which can refuel the LCA's once Take off from the Carrier some 8 of the LCA Need 2 MiG 29 K Refueler to Complete the Task.

For SEAD/DEAD ( Suppression/Destroy Enemy Air Defence )

           Simply at now the Tejas didn't host any Anti Radiation Missile's to Destroy Enemy Radar Sites. But some two pair of Mig 29 K can do this easily by Flying very Low Altitude and Firing the Kh 58 Anti Radiation Missiles. By Carrying Two Kh 58 along with two IR or WVR missiles .the Configuration sits best for Taking out the Enemy Coastal Defence Radar Networks and Be sure It's not go deeply into enemy Territory

          The LCA and the Mig 29 can provide Limited Close Air Support to the Insertion team. If Indian Navy Plans to send a Battalion of Marine Troops into some Enemy Territories If they need to Neutralize the Enemy Columns the LCA or the Mig 29 can do it to advance our Troops into Enemy Territory.This one can be Achieved by Variety of our Air Brigades from Indian Navy ranging from Tu 142 to LCA . the LCA can equipped with some Three MBDA Spear on it's Both wings or Some three GBU in both Wings the Spear is a Guided Missile and the GBU is the Guided Bomb unit 

For AShM ( Anti Shipping Missile )

          The Primary objective of the Carrier Air wing is Destruction of Enemy ships from Stand Off Target.This one can be easily achieved by old Exocet Missiles to Newer Generation Harpoon Missiles Both of the LCA and MiG 29 K can carry some two of them along with AA Missiles.

Thus Proves it's Ultimate Support in Naval Air Role. and that's why Navy wants the Tejas

While UK USA French Russia India have the Only operational Fleets to Form a CBG in case of war  .While China Says It's only for Training Purpose ..Are you sure China..? Most countries have SBTF ( Shore Based Testing Facility ) for Training Purpose .while some says China should Build Aircraft Carriers similar to Varyag where they Bought from Ukraine

           The Chinese Gets the Varyag from Ukraine Originally Built for Soviet Navy after Collapsing Soviet the Carriers comes under control of Ukraine tough it's unused because the Constructions not yet finished .The Soviet Built Varyag as a Anti Air and Anti sub Platform with variety of CIWS (Close in Weapon System )  and PMDS  (Point Missile Defence System ) along with Anti Shipping Missiles the Granit. because Soviet doctrine is Different they used it's carrier mainly for Protecting their SSBN ( Ballistic Missile Submarine Nuclear ) from the United Kingdom and the Americans

           When China Gets hand of that Carrier it's Just a Hull with abandoned Systems with zero operational Capabilities they used Millions of Dollars to bring the Ship into Chinese Port while only option left is  Towing the Ship through the Ocean with the use of Ocean Going Tug Boats china Towed the Carrier into Chinese waters. their was some Other stories too happens that Travel but they Did it.But it might have some issues.Possible weapons and more .While other countries easily get from Foreign .Chinese Only foreign Source is Russia ..He too not looking well when they face Exact clones from China.             While Comparing to American and French Carrier Borne fighters using CATOBAR ( Catapult Assisted Take Off But Arrested Recovery ) which can able to Launch the Aircraft with full Power less Fuel Usage Maximum payload but those Russian Indian Chinese Carriers are works under STOBAR ( Short Take Off But Arrested Recovery )   Configuration .resulting Fuel loss during the Take off and Limiting weapon payloads .the Plane Runs in its own power for Take off while in CATOBAR ship launch the Fighters into the Air 

            By lacking Range and Payload Su 33 heavy fighter lacks Range and Payload meanwhile the Indian MIG 29 K too. By Assessments The Su 33 Having two Kh 35 AShM and two R 77 can have limiting Combat Radii of only less than 400 Kilo Meters. But the Medium Weight Fighter Operated by Indian Navy the MIG 29 K have nearly 500 kilometers Combat Radii in similar Configuration also Indian Navy using some MiG 29 K fighters in Buddy Refeuling Configuration which allows the Aircraft can have increased Combat Radius or more Weapon Packages. No Pictures ever shot those Su 33 or it's clone having Full Combat Payload taking off from the Chinese or Russian Carrier even though Indian MiG 29 too . All Photos available is only Clean config or two AA Missiles. 

           Even though the Clone of Su 33 makes another issue about its Combat Radius is having only 200 kilometers .Some believes China Failed to Reverse engineer the Plane which can perform the same as the Su 33 in Russian Navy. They achieved the Physical Appearance But lost the Range and Payload .But Sure if Chinese Navy Launches it's J 15 in combat for Anti Shipping Role .having Two AShM and two AA missiles will not return back to it's deck .Surely It will Rest in the High Sea . while India Gets Carrier experience from France and America They Participate with countries Aircraft flying with Their Jets Taking Practice gather Knowledge about Operations .China's only option is the Brazil.Brazilian Navy Personals is right now Teaching the Chines to Carryout Carrier Operations.
