The need of fire power in Border

The need of fire power in Border

Last week, media reports that there is a security breach in border, that nearly ten Pakistani terrorists entered India, Intelligence Bureau issued the warnings to border states Punjab, Rajasthan and Gujrat to keep the state police vigil on the threat, day after the IB warnings, Pakistan also formally alerted India that there is an infiltration from  Pakistan.

Home ministry turns down the alert and deployed four NSG teams across the above-mentioned states, where they will safeguard public places and spiritual places like airports and famous Somnath temple. So far there was no trace found about the infiltrated terrorists.

It's something surprise that Pakistani NSA also alerted the Indian counterpart about the possible breach, there are many questions raised,

1. How does Pakistan know about the infiltration?

2. Why don't they stopped in advance?

3. what is the need for alerting the Indians?

India uses both the army and paramilitary units to safeguard the borders, and many of the border area's are fenced with barbed wires, Yet they were breaching the line and freely comes into India, It's clearly the Indian strategy fails, meantime Pakistan always gets success in this symmetrical warfare.

Moreover, Rann of Kutch border yet to be fenced, who still relies on border patrols. the border is in tough desert's. that one need lot of training before cross the rough weather desert's. Mainly BSF who guards the border goes patrols only at regular intervals. where they will check out for any damages in the fences, and possible evidence of human activity's and more.

The terrorists get good information's from Pakistani rangers who guarding the frontiers, about the Indian military activities, they give good supports to the terrorists to infiltrate the borders. The known facts debunked by many western analysts too.

So how do we counter them, In earlier days, there is cheap tactics used by the countries are anti-personnel mines. a low cost more effective way to guard the inaccessible borders, It's an easy job, that if anyone tries to walk away in the mine field, he must be a dead body. Due to some international treaties, may republic nations wouldn't use them. India also in the group of anti-personnel mine ban treaty.

There is another way, is using unmanned guard posts, Israel is the nation who uses it, Saudi also currently constructing such posts along the Iraqi-Saudi border. While India still using the older medieval age barbed wires, the bad idea already criticized by many defense analysts which include former army general's too. While they said India went defensive, which gives heavy casualties.

It's simple to breach the barbed wires, one or two men can easily breach those fences without leaving any pieces of evidence since it will not harm anyone who touching it. What a better idea from the early defense planners. They think the Pakistani's are just animals and those fences can easily stop them. they think it's like a zoo. fencing the zoo stops the animal escapes from the desired zone.

So the second option is using remote control weapon stations. and put a sign board along the Pakistani border " Welcome to India ". If anyone tries to enter the Indian lands the RWCS post can manage it. It's like " if you dare to enter you get some pills for free ". Earlier in last November that an army general said that, Troops under his command bordering the Indo-Pakistani border along Jammu and Kashmir gets home made RCWS posts.

It's a welcome decision, as he also stated that deployment will be started from December 2015, Even after three months later there is no information of that proposed deployment, which looks he didn't get proper authorization from the government. Automated weapons are configured as in an angle with thermal camera's to identify the body heat. No idea why the government still not authorizing it.

It's better to scrap the barbed wire plans and stop maintaining them, better use some RCWS post along the border, and Invite the Pakistani's to get some pills for long sleep.

Indian Army Plans to field remote controlled weapon towers

Indian Army Plans to field remote controlled weapon towers

Indian Army plans to field remote controlled border towers to secure borders from infiltrating, which can be used to shoot down any infiltrators who tries to comes very close to the border lines or tries to infiltrate,  Army already tested the prototypes and planning to field them before the end of this year. said Lieutenant General RR Nimbhorkar, commander of the Nagrota-based 16 Corps. Israel is the first country who constructed such towers to stop terrorists infiltrating into Israeli main land, later some others too constructed such weapon towers,

India suffers very badly due to the cross border infiltration, lost many Soldiers during the encounter, also it's hard to monitor the border 24x7, India setups multiple sensors and camera's along the border, to monitor enemy activities, however they need to dispatch infantry Soldiers to stop the terrorists, so far this year, there were 300 plus infiltration attempts foiled by the Army and BSF Soldiers, more than 100 infiltrators shot dead, and Army, BSF too loose some of it's men,

Army and BSF had many technical supports to identify the threats, however they don't have any  gadgets who can perform strike missions, attack drones uses missiles to strike enemy positions if they were inducted, however it draws enemy attention, and the operating costs too not economical and it creates possible collateral damages too , Israel is the first one who found a good solution with less costs, they constructed small towers across the concrete wall separating gaza and Israel, those remote controlled guns can be trigger by the commander, unlike some other systems works as autonomous mode, like RCWS.

The new towers comes with a infrared radiator to detect moving or new targets in it's ranges, if any suspicious activity's founds, the sensors alert the field commander or the operator who watching the camera's, if the target identified as hostile the operator can trigger the Machine gun which is attached with the sensor system.

the tower works in day night and all weather conditions, and keep the guns inside a small cover, if the operator press the trigger button,The guns can be raised, lowered and rotated in a 150-degree arc for better accuracy and high precision.

There is no confirmation about the gun's characteristics, however it's believed it could be a 7.62x39 mm Light machine gun, for better fire power and range, the tower can scan the area outside from the border fences for inappropriate moving, it can detect any movement up to a distance of 80 meters ahead of the border fence.

The scope of automation is being expanded. Nimbhorkar, whose forces guard a 224-km stretch of the disputed border in Jammu and Kashmir, told Hindustan Times, “The tests on Sten sub-machine guns have met expectations. Now, trials will be conducted on light machine guns. We hope to deploy remote-controlled weapons in areas identified by us in two months.” Nimbhorkar said the weapons would be deployed to “secure dead ground” hidden from soldiers due to topographical factors and other areas that are “extremely difficult” to patrol. Such patches are exploited by infiltrators, backed by the Pakistani army, to sneak into the country and cross the Pir Panjal range to foment strife and tension in the Kashmir valley.

“This in-house innovation will help troops keep infiltration to near-zero level,” he said.

Tensions for the Government, Pakistani Shelling and Veterans proposal of OROP

Tensions for the Government, as Pakistani Shelling and Veterans proposal of OROP

It's shocking that the government still has not taken a good step to stop the Pakistani cross border shelling, this is not new, till now the Pakistani Army uses heavy machines guns for Firing, but now they moving with Heavy mortar shells, and Rocket propelled grenades, as inside the country, Veterans asking the government to implement the OROP now, and they moving with full wave of  Protests, as the Aug 15 deadline missed by the government.

Cross Border firing

The new government gets the vote by saying will stop the illegal Pakistani firings across the Line of Control, however so far the Government takes no good steps to stop them, instead of wasting time on talking and  return firing, that makes huge attrition damage to India only, not for Pakistan,

Just before the Independence day celebration, six of the Kashmir Civilians killed by the Pakistani Firings, some days before  Gurdaspur attack, Udampur strike makes India suffered more, but the Government said they will assigned a NSA level talks with the Pakistani's to control the illegal firing, as Surprisingly, NSA adviser also states that weapons is not a good answer, where Diplomatic solution is best to handle such situation, That's the Common Indian ideology since decades, Makes the Indian power a soft and weaken power in Global arena, where countries like Israel and Russia affected by Terrorism and cross border firings they act very quickly by eliminating the Group who involved the Tragedy, makes their Attrition damage very low compared to their enemies,

However situation is very opposite here in India, If Pakistan contentiously shelling and killing Indian civilians and Soldiers, the Government keeps the Diplomatic options, and never tried to deploy massive force to destroy the destination of the firing source, where Israeli's doing this since decades,

However instead of repelling the Pakistani firings, the Government asked the Civilians to vacate the land and move to safer place, this is how government plans to control the attrition damage, and waiting for NSA level Talks, and the so called befitting reply from India said by Ministers and government, the so called warnings from Home ministry is just a eye wash, since they were failed to stop the Pakistani firing,

One Rank One Pension

The long awaited issue is the Ex service men's One Rank one Pension issues, since from day one of the new government the veterans eagerly awaiting for one rank one pension. but so far they didn't get any good answer except the same words like, The Government understand the veterans wish, and govt will soon resolve it, but more than one year same Words again and again, but no bill or no clear deadlines,

Not many of the Today's generation don't know the genesis of the OROP, Well, here it is. Till 1973, the Pensions of Armed Forces  were  70% of their last pay drawn , while that of the Civilians or other Central government staffs was 30% of their last pay drawn. so as to compensate for the Early Retirement age of Armed Forces as compared to the Civilians, 88% of Military Personnel retire between 35-37 yrs of age, while 92% of balance retired ( then) at 52 yrs whereas all other Central government staffs  retire at  60 yrs  flat.

However, in 1973, duly regularized by the  3rd Pay Commission  under Congress government,  the Pensions of  All Govt Servants were  made Equal, that makes all the central government staffs and the Armed forces gets the same 50% of pension, calculated by the last pay drawn, where civilian staffs gets 20% hike meantime, Armed forces personnel's pension decreased by 50% from early 70%, from 1973 to till now the Veterans asking for OROP, where the governments keep ignoring this since decades.

Even Just before the eve of Independence day the Veterans jumped into protest, but the Police men misused their power and lynched the Soldiers, even without paying respects to their ages, a 95 year old Veteran severely lynched and his medals thrown off, after the Media Jumped the situation changed, The Policemen moved from the place where veterans protested,

And now the veterans announced a Hunger strike till death, and demanding a good answer from the Government.
